The Winter Poem

Winter, the longest season of all

Deceptive sunlight

A hint of frost

Snow may fall sooner or later

The evenings continue to draw in early

Dawn – delayed

The winter stillness lingers

Raw and deep and icy cold

Snow, Cold, And A Wait

Storm EMMA has come and the temperatures have dipped. The snow has settled. Yesterday, I went to work and got back safely. The evening was freezing. The snow remains.

My latest book, an autobiography, My Musical Journey, is now available as an ebook on Amazon Kindle and as a paperback from Amazon (US). I’m still waiting for the booksellers in the UK to stock the book. Another week or so, I expect.

My Musical Journey by Lawrence Estrey

A teenage boy. A piano. Aspirations and ruin.

The narrative touches on a number of topics, including gangs, post traumatic stress, and religion.

Snow, At Last

At last, the first sprinkling of snow has come to London and this morning I had to take special care as I walked down the driveway to the main road.  Meanwhile, the weather is generally bleak and cheerless.  Winter. I keep busy with my preparation for the third novel, piano practice and language studies, and brave the weather for exercise when I can.

Hurry up, Spring!

St Patrick’s Day And My Birthday

The time of year again. The snow has melted away but fresh rain has come and the sky remains grey, apart from on a few days earlier in the week when the sun came out. Tomorrow is St Patrick’s Day and also my birthday, and hopefully a time to reflect on things.  Meanwhile, I’m working on a new novel, Silent, a psychological thriller about a group of music students brought together in a country hall.

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

More Snow

Snow hit the UK again earlier in the week, but most of it has gone now.  Below are some of the photos I caught in Highgate Wood, North London.

In the meantime, I’m working on a new novel, Silent, a psychological thriller set in the north of England about a group of music students brought together in a house with a disturbed history.  My other two novels – Secrets by Lawrence Estrey and EggHead (teen fiction) – are available from Amazon in paperback and e-book.

Check out the reviews for my debut novel Secrets.
